Planting tree is immensely important for the environment, human
health and the overall well-being of planet. Tree filler pollutants
and particulate matters from the air, producing oxygen and im-
proving overall air quality along with, tree roots stabilize soil, pre-
venting erosion and reducing landslides and contribute to soil
fertility by returning nutrients to the ground through fallen leaves
and organic matter. Trees plays various roles in water cycle regu-
lation, climate regulation, mental and physical health and also
economic benefits which can increase property values reducing
energy costs by providing natural welling and support industries
such as timber, fruit production and ecotourism.
On June 5th 2022, “World Environmental Day” we organized
tree planting event at MIMS Hospital Calicut, where we planted
around 30 saplings. Our team of 5 Volunteers participated in the
event, which aimed to increase green cover and promote biodi-
versity of the hospital.
The main aim of planting trees in hospital is to reduce the stress
by enhancing the people to explore the aesthete view of earth.
Trees can accelerate the mental and physical healing process.
Accessible green spaces with trees encourage patients, visitors
and staff to spend time in outdoors. This promotes physical activ-
ity, which is beneficial for recovery and overall health, as well as
providing a space for relaxation and reflection.Incorporating trees into hospital environments aligns with holis-
tic approaches to health care, recognizing the importance of
nature in promoting physical, mental and emotional well-being.
