Beaches are home to various ecosystems, including Marine life,
birds and plants. Trash and debris can harm wildlife, entangle
animals or be ingested, leading to injury or death. By cleaning
beaches, we help to preserve these delicate ecosystems.
Plastics materials and other wastes on beaches can break
down into micro plastics, which are particularly harmful as they
enter the food chain and spread various infections through
ocean currents.
On 08 June 2021 “World Ocean Day”, our team has conduct-
ed a Beach Cleaning Campaign with the togetherness of
“KAHOOT” Organisation at Kozhikode beach. Where we col-
lected over 100kg of plastic wastes and other non-biodegrad-
able materials. We have around 30 Volunteers who showed
great enthusiasm and dedication to the cause.
The economic impact of cleaning beaches can attract more
tourists, which boosts the local economy. A dirty polluted
beach can deter visitors, leading to a decline in tourism related
revenue. And also beach cleaning events often bring commu-
nities together, raising awareness about the environmental
issues and encouraging responsible behaviour amount individ-
uals. It fosters a sense of responsibility and collective action in
protecting our natural resources.
